Leroy Hare Moke was born In Rotorua New Zealand and is of Maori / Irish / Scottish descent. From a very young age, he always had a passion for art, and now that passion and focus have become tattooing. Leroy got his first tattoo when he was 16 years old from his older brother and fell in love with tattoos ever since. He completed a traditional apprenticeship and learnt the trade of tattooing from setting up the shop, hygiene and designing tattoo designs for clients and application of tattoos. His journey with art started with a love for traditional styles and Maori contemporary tattooing kurituhi.
Art has always been how he expressed himself to family, friends and the world. Leroy views tattooing to be like another language you can identify culture and people just by looking at skin art. Leroy has been taught by some of the best in the industry. Having been influenced by many artists throughout his career has shaped Leroy's style of work today. He is known for his impeccable attention to detail and his ability to bring his clients' visions to life. He specializes in a variety of styles including black and grey, neo-traditional, but mainly specialising in Tamoko/Kurituhi, the bold lines and fine detail. It’s all about flow and freehands each line with a sharpie pen to flow with the body’s natural curves. He's not only a great artist but he's a kind, patient and skilled professional, who will make sure to take care of you during the process.
