Tattoo Studio Agreement Terms
Tattoo Studio Terms & Conditions: By entering into an agreement with Lethal Ink Tattoo Studio and its artists for a scheduled appointment or walk-in appointment, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you may choose to be tattooed elsewhere.
Tattooing is a permanent art form using a needle and machine to insert ink under your skin. Pain and discomfort will vary based on the location of the tattoo. The final result may vary due to skin types and the unpredictability of ink absorption. Our artists will do their best to achieve the desired design and inform you of any potential issues.
Inform the artist of any serious illnesses in your first conversation. Only then can we determine if tattooing is possible. Bring identification if asked for, as we cannot tattoo anyone underage. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment and make sure you have eaten, rested, and are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Wearing appropriate clothing that can handle ink stains is also important. Our artists prefer clean clients and ask that you practice good personal hygiene. No pets are allowed in the studio. You are responsible for remembering your appointment date and time, but please email us if you are running late. To Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, Clients will need to disclose ANY medical conditions that could put our staff/artist/clients at risk.
This is including but is not limited to:-bloodborne disease/illness-Hepatitis C-HIV-COVID-19
We advise clients who have any disabilities to advise us of this before booking and we will do our best to accommodate. We do recommend coming on your own to your appointment, we are a friendly bunch so you won't feel alone. If you need a support person, we do limit it to one person at a time. Due to health and safety reasons, we do not allow children under the age of 12 in the store. If you show any signs of cold or flu-like symptoms upon arrival our staff will have the right to refuse service. We recommend advising our artist/staff within 48hrs if you are feeling unwell to reschedule your appointment.
In the event our staff/artists are feeling threatened or have been disrespected in any way, our staff/artists have the right to terminate the session or refuse service resulting in no refund/unfinished tattoo/ or being trespassed from Lethal Ink Studio. The artist may need to reschedule, in which case the deposit may be refunded. You waive the right to privacy if debt recovery or other such reasons arise. We do not tattoo those under 18s without legal consent, pregnant women, animals, or racist or hateful symbols. Lethal Ink has the right to refuse service to anyone.
Healing the tattoo is your responsibility. Our artists will advise you on care, but it is up to you to follow it. Normal issues such as infections, fading, itching, dryness, and more may occur, and we are not responsible for any damage during healing or otherwise.
Incorrect aftercare can lead to various issues such as infection, scarring, fading or discolouration of the tattoo. It's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the tattoo artist to ensure proper healing and preserve the appearance of the tattoo.
Our artists are professionals and will advise on placement and size, but we are not responsible for any advice followed outside of our studio.
All artworks and designs are owned by the artist under New Zealand Copyright Act and may not be copied without permission. The artist has the right to photograph and reproduce the artwork for promotional purposes and sell a custom design only with the original client's agreement. Your artist may require a design deposit, which is non-refundable even if you are not happy with the final design. Lethal Ink has the right to refuse service to anyone, with no explanation needed.
After a consultation, you will be required to deposit a $100 minimum to secure your booking with your artist. This deposit will be in credit to the final cost for your tattoo and will act as a hold on the artist and their time. Deposits are typically non-refundable due to the preparation involved in booking a tattoo appointment. This preparation may include designing a custom tattoo, ordering or preparing supplies, or holding a specific time slot for the client. Additionally, when a deposit is collected, it is a sign of commitment from the client to follow through with the appointment, and the artist can then decline other offers for that time slot. For these reasons, deposits are considered non-refundable.
To get a tattoo independently, clients must be 18 years or older and may need to show a photo ID. Clients who are 16 to 17 years old are accepted under the following conditions: they notify staff/artists of their age at their first contact, are supervised and have a parent/caregiver's consent form filled out, and both client and parent/caregiver have provided photo ID. If any changes may affect the tattoo appointment, the client must inform Lethal Ink staff/artist via text or email 48 hours before the appointment. Failure to do so may result in additional charges for a new booking (decided on a case-by-case basis by the artist) and loss of deposit. This also applies if a client postpones their appointment more than twice.
